our first travel site

Our very first travelling site was our grandy’s. We (that is our Dad and Mum) had trouble parking the 22 foot Caravan we had to back the Caravan down the drive way. Dad had to use about seven or eight bloks of wood to stablise the whole Caravan! then we all (except, of course, mum and dad) sprinted down to grandys House! It took a couple of days to get used to it.

Once we all got use to it some times we wood sleep on our Mums old bed! We use to watch the news there and after the news Edmound, Grandys and Lucy and then some times Susan would go to but Susaun would usly watch Grandy, Greg and I (and some times Dad and Mum to) play Risk.

About a month later Dad and Greg brought Dad’s grapling hook that he had used as a boy. We climbed up a tree with it one day my friend Jack came for a play Jack and I played the Wii and after a little we were climing trees and runing all over the shed Roof!

Finally on January the twenty second of 2010 at One o’clock in the afternoon we left for Raymond Island! I felt exited.

About Peter

Hello, my name is Peter, and I am eleven years old. I like to read, particularly fantasy and adventure. My favourite authors are Angie Sage, Enid Blyton, Roald Dahl, and J.K. Rowling.

I am traveling around Australia in a caravan with my Mum,Dad,baby brother and two sisters. My brother, Edmund, is two, and my sisters are named Lucy, who is six, and Susan, who is eight. My favourite places are Ayres Rock, Kata Tjuta, Kings Canyon, Mt. Hothom, Andamooka, Gem Tree and Phillip Island. At Ayres Rock, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyonn, we walked for ages. At Mt.hothom we skied for the whole season and tobboganned.

I like to read, listen to audiobooks on my ipod, ride my bike sing, memorise poems, take photos, maths, cooking, campfires, and swim. My favourite songs are by Louis Armstrong.

My sisters and I are homeschooled. Mum tells me sometimes that I have to read a particular book. Sometimes Mum tells me to read a book, and I usually say “No way! I hate that book!” but then once I read it I usually find I love it. It was like that with J.R.R.Tolkein, Angie Sage, Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl. I knew that I’d like L.Frank Baum, though, because Mum had played some of the Wizard of Oz audiobooks in the car.

  1. I never knew you climbed on the shed rooves! I wouldn’t have been happy if I’d known that (even though I used to do it, too).

The side closest to the road was where I would always jump back off, but the hardest bit was pulling myself back up from shed to shed as the gap between the roof of each shed was nearly as high as I was tall!

    • Well, Mum, we did climb up but we were not pulling ourselves up, we were jumping out of the tree onto the shed roof. The roof did shake and wobble a lot, but it never broke. I never really cared which side I climbed up from.

  2. I didn’t know you were jumping on the roof either. What other naughty secrets have you got?. I liked hearing what you thought of staying at my place.
